I am excluding Taylormade's latest R7 irons because the lofts on those are rediculously strong IMO Just one more thing, the lofts are somewhat traditional approx 2 degrees weaker than all Hogans other offerings and probably weaker than the offerings of the other big names. I have sorted my temp out now and am wondering how well I would hit them, but I am so happy with my FTXs that I don't want to cloud my mind by re-visiting my equipment options. My opinon of the blades? When well hit they were bloody good but for a 15 handicapper with tempo problems they were just too much especially in the long and mid irons. Again these had no 4 shafts in them but changing to DG Lites R300 made these iron much more playable for me. I sold them on and got FTXs (CB from 3 thru 7 and blade from 8 thru E). I owned a set of 1998 Apex irons with Apex No 4 shafts in them.

The most modern Apex Irons came out in about 1998 and apart from some cosmetics have been basically unchanged to this day. I know everybody likes mizuno.but Hogans are just awesome, I highly recommend them. And i just read in golf digest that Hogan is coming out with a new version of the HOgan blades.these are the 2 sets that i would look at. As far as blades go though Hogan just released the Apex 50's a yr or 2 ago and these are the 50th anniversary set.they are awesome. That being said I normally play a stiffer shaft but these fit me like a glove.the flight and feel is unmatched. I have them with the Apex 3 shaft which correlates to a regular flex. WI currently play Hogan Apex edge pros and love uldn't be happier. they looked a few years old but were in nice shape.Ī) what are the better new model hogan blades (year)ī) what shafts have you used or are using.

I guess thats important as I believe hogan has changed owners a few times. I used 29's for many years in the 90's.anyway.I was very impressed. I must admit im no longer much of a blade fan.

I'm at the range today and I hit a guys Hogan apex blade.
